Gibbs & Dandy are a network of local builders and timber merchants serving professionals in the building trade.
The roots of Gibbs & Dandy can be traced back to when the company was established as an ironmongery business based in Luton. The business was acquired by George Frederick Gibbs before being purchased by William and Percy Dandy in 1894.
In 1920, Gibbs & Dandy became a private limited company, acquiring new premises in Luton and Dunstable, and later being floated on the Birmingham Stock Exchange. In 2017, builders merchant Chas Lowe & Sons acquired the company and relocated to Stevenage.
The company has a proud history built on local relationships, with each branch tailoring their service to meet the needs of their local market and customers.
Employees build strong relationships with customers and each other thanks to a great deal of enthusiasm, support and well-placed humour, which is useful in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
