Grand Union Housing operates an exceptional performance awards scheme for staff who are role models and have demonstrated they have delivered above and beyond expectations. This is open to nominations by all staff for any colleague. Last year 25 staff were rewarded with sums of up to £1,000 and many were happy to be showcased to help others recognise what exceptional performance means in real terms. In addition they also have a quarterly prize draw for £250 of vouchers and all those who have not had a day off sick in the previous three months are eligible with the winner publicly acknowledged. They also recently held a staff competition to win a tablet to mark their 20th anniversary, designed to reward staff for their efforts in collecting essential customer data to help them improve their service. This was successful in engaging staff and raising awareness of a customer profiling campaign, with 21 tablets for prizes. They give an extra day's leave for those staff who have had no sickness in the last year.
