About Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce provide a range of services and channels for member businesses, from all sectors and all sizes, so they can grow and successfully develop their networks, connections and business opportunities.

Their ambition is to be the most outstanding Chamber of Commerce in the UK and become recognised as one of the leading Chambers of Commerce throughout the world.

In addition, their core values state: “We treat others as we would like to be treated. We take personal ownership and strive to beat our goals. We value our history and the need to change. We are not complete until we include those not like us.”

These values are built into their recruitment process, employee induction, annual development reviews and regular 1-2-1's and through team briefing meetings, which occur bi-monthly.

With over 4,500 members, they are the largest accredited Chamber of Commerce in the UK.

Senior management are encouraged to take Non-Executive Director positions with external organisations to help develop their careers, which have included positions with Manchester Jazz Festival and Manchester Action on Street Health (MASH). Employees also regularly volunteer at the annual Manchester Jazz Festival.

In May 2018, their meeting centre was awarded the Green Tourism Bronze accreditation. To achieve this they use Fairtrade beverage products as well as Rainforest Alliance certified coffee. They also supply their visitors with 100% wooden biodegradable cutlery and cups.

Their first “Employee of the Month Award” was presented in April 2018 and has become an established part of their reward and recognition culture. The winner receives an extra day’s annual leave and is featured on across their social media channels.
