The experience I gain from this job is valuable for my future
Hall and Partners believe they offer a significantly different development programme as they don’t just give people the skills to do their job they teach them to think. This is key as they charge clients a premium for the advice and strategic thinking that they provide. They do this in a number of ways. They have a programme called ‘Outside In’. Every month external speakers come into the agency and give a lecture on an interesting topic related to our work. This year this has included a behavioural economist, a person working in digital creative ideas and a journalist who taught them to think about how they communicate effectively. Hall and Partners train people to think quickly and to be able to express their ideas well. They use actors as trainers who specialise in treating people to think ‘in the moment’.
They have a programme called ‘Know’ which trains people in the latest company innovations and the latest trends – this year it covered new brand relationships, social media and ways to analyse ‘big data’.
Knowledge sharing and creative thinking is encouraged. They have a number of bloggers, our creative team send out the best ad of the week and we all share interesting articles. Hall and Partners then measure their values in their appraisals and have designed appraisals to reflect not just doing a good research job but ones that shows that people have thought at every stage.
