Since its inception in 1877, Health Shield have become an award-winning provider of health cash plans, now covering over 295,000 members and their families.
The organisation has no shareholders and is accountable only to its members and regulatory bodies, helping members to cover the costs of their everyday healthcare needs. Through this work, the organisation looks to improve the health and wellbeing of as many people as possible.
Health Shield are also dedicated to offering a positive working environment to all members of staff.
Each year, staff are invited to a summer event to celebrate everything that is good about working for the organisation. Other events include a summer BBQ, pub quizzes and coffee mornings, as well as an Office Olympics event.
Chief Executive Jonathan Burton works hard to communicate strategies that will propel the organisation forward through creating a culture of energy and excitement within the charity. Jonathan encourages all employees to understand and share the same beliefs and behaviours and observe them in their working lives.
