About Holiday Extras

Holiday Extras are the UK market leader in travel extras. Core offerings include airport hotels, airport parking, airport lounges, airports by rail and coach, destination car hire and holiday insurance.

The Kent firm makes arrangements for seven million travellers every year. The company focuses on innovative technology, a wide range of products, great prices and making travel better for their customers.

In 1983, entrepreneur Gerry Pack discovered that it wasn’t easy for travellers to book a room in an airport hotel - no discounted rates were available and hotel rooms were going unused.

Holiday Extras began as the Apple Booking Company. Today, Chief Executive Officer Matthew Pack is committed to hassle-free travel. He’s inspired the workforce of 500 to explore increasingly creative and innovative directions across all areas of the business.

Five values guide working life at Holiday Extras: be pioneering in spirit; be at the helm; be courageous; be one team; and be the best version of you.

What is it like to work for Holiday Extras

Monthly fun events allow the team to let their hair down. ‘Anytime+’ working allows people to work wherever and whenever – if you’d rather go shopping or to a school assembly, fine: work later. A 24-hour employee assistance programme also offers telephone counselling.

A ‘fun budget’ brings people together. This include chocolates and scratch-cards for everybody on ‘Blue Monday’ in January, an annual Easter egg hunt, Friday summer barbecues, camping on site, ice creams, fireworks night with barbecue and human Hungry Hippos.

Holiday Extras buy from farmers and retailers to support the local economy. Many teams are now entirely paperless. They encourage car shares and promote the cycle-to-work scheme. The firm supports the Travel Foundation, promoting responsible tourism.
