Hurford Salvi Carr strongly encourage staff to take the actions recommended by the New Economics Foundation research: Connect - Be Active - Take Notice - Keep learning - Give. Some of the staff have started a badminton group, others do spare time charity work and there is normally a good turnout each year for the Christian Aid Walk.
Hurford Salvi Carr built the business on a policy of adapting the workload as far as they could to include as many term-time employees as they could. This has enabled many people to spend more time with their children and they see this as something worthwhile for the local community.
This is not unique but the most effective reward is a personal letter of thanks from the MD for services above and beyond the call of duty.
