Founded in 1982, Hurst are a Manchester based accountants’ firm with the aim to help people whose businesses mean everything to them. From global brands to go-getting entrepreneurs, Hurst aim to make people’s goals a reality.

Hurst select a charity of the year each year, and all employees give at least one day to this charity via their annual away day. All employees can complete a day themselves for any charity and the firm gives them extra holiday time for this.

Management training is very much on the job at HURST, though they are working with an external provider on a more structured programme.  Managers are selected on a set of competencies and constantly measured against these.  These management competencies were designed by an external consultancy.  The Manager competency framework is also assessed by both the manager and their manager at the annual performance review

At Hurst all teams have a "weekly huddle" on a Monday.  All staff take part in an annual strategy session to determine the strategy for the year and team briefs are held quarterly
