There is a study policy in place. The company have an employee undertaking the MA Human Resources management at Portsmouth University funded by the company. There is a wide range of internal courses run every year. These are advertised on the courses calendar of events and includes courses such as running successful meetings, presentation skills, appraisal skills and HR for managers. They encourage 'stand in' opportunities for employees to stand in for their manager for periods of less than 3 months. This allows an employee to get experience of people management.

Loyalty gifts are consolidated into pensionable pay for employees. This is based on length of service at a set date and is between £176 to £704. When an employee achieves 25/40 years service or retirement they are invited to choose a gift of up to £300 dependent upon length of service. They launched an 'IDEAS' initiative to encourage employees to send in their business suggestions which are discussed at regular committee meetings. These meetings are attended by members of the senior Management team and 2 members from the sales force.

The company review salaries annually for all employees. They pay salaries in the median quartile and reward overall benefits package in the upper quartile. The company have high expectations of their employees and provide them with a high level of personal accountability throughout the organisation. In return they believe that strong performance demands appropriate rewards. Employees therefore receive an annual bonus of between 10%-50% of their base salary dependent upon achievement of company and individual targets and role grade.
