Despite having started in 2007, iQ Student Accommodation is currently the second largest provider of student accommodation in the country as well as one of the fastest growing companies in the sector.
The company has recently acquired 11 new sites, which means it currently owns and manages 66 properties across the UK. Company CEO, Rob Roger, spends his time travelling around these locations to meet iQ employees and to help them out during the busiest periods of the year.
All 493 iQ employees have access to a bespoke benefits platform called ‘My iQ Rewards’ which contains a range of employee discounts.
As well as providing financial assistance, iQ also offers a range of mental health support. As part of their mental health and wellbeing policy, for example, staff are trained in mental health first aid to identify issues at both student and staff level.
All company managers take part in the Grow, Lead and Inspire training programme which helps employees to rise through the ranks (from team member to team leader, supervisor to manager).
Employees are given the opportunity to take part in development programmes which are designed to improve their leadership and management skills.
The company has adopted an open door policy to encourage employees to speak up when they have suggestions which they believe could improve the business.
