About Julia's House

Julia’s House are an award-winning children’s hospice in Dorset and Wiltshire, which provides care for those with life-shortening or life-threatening conditions, as well as support for their families.

Working from 13 sites across the region, the organisation looks to improve the lives of families by lobbying government for greater respite support in order to reduce the number of parents splitting up due to stress.

Through its core values of integrity, stability and compassion, Julia’s House also seek to be a positive place for all staff to work. Teamwork is promoted through an annual staff and volunteers away day, which is packed with interesting talks from the front line of care services.

Chief Executive Martin Edwards has headed operations at Julia’s House since 2005. Martin is dedicated to keeping in touch with members of the team by working from different premises and attending team meetings, where he encourages staff to share any questions they may have.

Julia’s House has moved all energy contracts to renewables, and the broker has sponsored and protected 1,000 acres of endangered Mexican rainforest in return. Many staff have done sponsored challenges to raise money for Julia's House, including trekking across the Alps and running marathons.
