About Just Group plc

Just offer specialist financial services for the retirement market. A range of retirement-income products and services includes Guaranteed Income for Life or Lifetime Mortgages, to individuals and corporate clients, including pension trustees.

The company was established as Just Retirement in 2004 and listed on the Alternative Investment Market until a buyout by Permira in 2009.

Today, the company is headed up by Chief Executive Officer Rodney Cook and has its headquarters in Reigate, with over 1000 staff.

In 2013, the company was the subject of an initial public offering and, in April 2016, they merged with Partnership Assurance. In 2017, they changed their name to Just Group plc.

Just’s founding belief is that everyone deserves a fair, secure and fulfilling retirement. They exist to help people get the most out of theirs. That could mean a regular income paid for life or accessing money tied up in property.

A performance-management programme called Continuous Performance Conversations encourages regular informal discussions between line managers and employees. These conversations lead to an end-of-year assessment with the view to everyone reaching their potential.
Last year, Just held a ‘Feeling Good Live’ fortnight. Activities for 400 staff included health checks, more ‘fruit drops’, mindfulness sessions, smoothie bikes, head-and-shoulder massages, mental-health awareness talks, and a presentation from provider Unum about emotional and practical support for employees.

The sales function, Hub, has a scheme called a Hub Hug, an e-card of appreciation that anyone can send to a colleague or a team that’s gone the extra mile. The Hub leadership team reviews these quarterly and selects the best nomination for a trophy.
