Company Information

GANG CULTURE HAS taken over this London agency — but it won’t be allowed to destroy the good karma built up since its inception in 2000. All 248 people working for Karma Communications Group are randomly assigned to one of six gangs across all parts of the business. They pick names (such as Gangy McGangface) and team up on charity work, parties and more. Strategies such as this, introduced last year by founding partner Ben Bilboul, now the chief executive, win Karma our special award for Innovation in Engagement.

The group, whose clients include Honda, Iceland and Plusnet, was acquired last year by professional services provider Accenture — 15th in our list of big companies. It comprises Karmarama (advertising); Kaper (PR); Kream (production); Nice Agency (digital); and Konnect (data and analytics). Staff here say they care for each other (87% positive, fifth).
