Earlier in the year KNH set up a leadership academy. The programme is being run as a 12 month course over 3 separate years and is made up of 4 external modules delivered by Azure Consulting Ltd. The theme of these modules is taking responsibility. These external modules are complemented by in-house modules that are specific to area of work and cover things like building good partnering relationships, political awareness, policy development and report writing, employment law and equalities framework, risk and health & safety management, finance and budget management. KNH runs a forum for managers. The agenda for the session is set by a small group of managers from different sections. Forums run in a set format that includes: updates, key issues, team celebration and concludes with a workshop. The greatest benefit for those attending is the opportunity for networking and exchanging ideas.
When working with an individual to prevent them having to take sick leave or to help them get back to work quicker, they will look at all options. In the past this has included paying for a college course on mindfulness, gym membership, massage and acupuncture. They acknowledge that different things work for different people and so are open to suggestions from both the individual and from medical professionals.

Work closely with volunteers and community groups to develop solutions to local problems and projects that help meet community needs and aspirations. Support residents to develop the skills and confidence to organise their own community activities.
