About Lantra

Lantra are a land-based and environmental awarding organisation that offers training and qualifications across many subject areas. For over 40 years, the organisation has provided career and business resources for people working and studying in land-based and environmental sector.

Its portfolio offers opportunities for individuals from all ages and backgrounds, and includes one-day training-only courses, integrated training and assessment and qualifications at various levels.

As well as its dedication to delivering high-quality training, Lantra look to create a positive working environment for all its employees. The organisation supports employee development and endeavours to promote flexible working opportunities where appropriate.

Leader Marcus Potter has a keen interest in listening to staff ideas and solutions, while also providing a clear direction. His participative and democratic leadership style is based on engaging employees and inspiring them to do their best while offering continued support and autonomy.

A Wellbeing Team of four staff helps employees improve their physical and mental health through education, initiatives and support networks. A step-counter competition rewarded the member of staff who increased their steps by the highest percentage over four weeks. Sugary snack vending machines have been removed.

Employees can mix with colleagues at the staff conference, while staff briefings take place every six months. The CEO feeds back to staff on the last quarter's figures and business progress against targets outlined in the business plan.

Once a year, staff can nominate colleagues for an award, presented at the annual staff conference. Long-service awards are high-street vouchers to the value of £250 for 20 years’ service, £200 for 15 and £100 for 10. Perkbox discounts are also available.
