At their September sales meeting Lundbeck held a chocolate making competition, an Apprentice style challenge. The whole sales organisation was split into groups and given an afternoon to create, package and market a new chocolate brand. These were then pitched to the Senior Management Group and a winner was chosen. It was a lot of fun and a break from formal work exercises.
Lundbeck had a session at Carden Park in October 2009, whereby the whole organisation was invited to use the affinity method to identify how they can better achieve the organisational mission. This led to alignment around a number of key projects which formed the backbone of the organisations evolution through 2010 and 2011 e.g. key account management, market access capability, personal development, performance management. Lundbeck have an annual Corporate Employee Satisfaction Survey (ESS) that they use in order to gain feedback and ideas from their employees. Lundbeck use their Information and Consultation Forum and Staff Gatherings as an information and idea sharing forum. They also have a quartely newsletter called 'Encore' for news and information.
Lundbeck have an Above and Beyond scheme that allows anyone to nominate an employee for going the extra mile. The uniqueness here is that this does not just sit with management, although they need to approve any nomination for consistency purposes.
