With over 2,000 seats in their auditorium, Mayflower Theatre are the biggest theatre on the south coast of England. Their aim is to bring a diverse range of shows to Southampton and surrounding areas.
They are an independent theatre and pride themselves on being one of the only theatres in the country who don't receive direct funding from any external bodies and yet still achieve an annual surplus due to the hard work of all of their staff. Surpluses are invested back into the theatre to enable growth, to support the community and education strategies; and ensure the upkeep of their grade II listed theatre.
Mayflower Theatre's mission statement is to 'Fulfil the theatre's potential to be the leading presenting theatre company in the country, with a distinctive, popular, effective and high-quality artistic programme'.
