Mills & Reeve LLP are a national law firm who provide work for substantial, high growth businesses and individuals as well as in the health, higher education and further education sectors, real estate and insurance.
Henry Mills and Edmund Reeve founded the firm nearly 150 years ago to work on the legal aspects of the new tram system under development in Norwich. The firm undertook its first merger with Cambridge law firm Francis & Co in the mid 1980's. This introduced the firm to the technology market in Cambridge and the Cambridge Colleges, some of the wealthiest landowners in the country. The merger helped establish their reputation in education and real estate.
Mills & Reeve act for most of the leading universities in the country and work with national and international investors in UK real estate. They have expanded into Birmingham and more recently added offices in London, Leeds and Manchester to the firm. In 2019 the firm posted a record turnover, showing that investing in their people really does pay off.
The firm recognises the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the hard work, commitment and achievement of all staff. The firm has a discretionary effort awards policy in place that seeks to recognise the effort of an individual whose contribution, on a one-off or short-term basis, has been exceptional in that it goes above and beyond what would reasonably be expected of someone in that role and is therefore worthy of particular note.
