Morgan McKinley's senior leadership team demonstrate how much the company values mean by rewarding and recognising the individual who is voted for, by their colleagues, as champion of a particular value each quarter. Despite being a sales business this is not linked in any way to revenue generated, this is all about recognising those who consistently demonstrate their values and they reward this with vouchers and their 'Go Beyond' trip. Anyone at any level can be nominated including Directors and it is testament that every quarter, Directors are nominated. When anyone is being considered for promotion they must be able to provide evidence of commitment to the company values; this is deemed integral to their progression and development and a core element of the company's career pathway programme. Each week they highlight specific examples of excellence in each value and communicate to the business, again in recognition of how they want everyone in the business to behave.

Morgan McKinley has a transparent and defined career management programme called Career Pathways. This includes roles, responsibilities, key objectives and behavioural / technical competences and a clearly defined pathway to leadership. The Career Pathways programme has recently been re-engineered and is now aligned to their Learning and Development Strategy called iLearn, which is based on five key principles of learning: personal development is personal, everyone at Morgan McKinley has their own iLearn Personal Development Plan, constructive feedback plays a pivotal role in building talents, everyone can broaden their horizons, everyone must take responsibility for their own career, everyone is an expert and everyone can transfer their knowledge to each other. The company's learning and development initiatives reflect these principles and provide a mix of appropriate interventions to support employee development. They launched their Management Development Programme in 2013. This is run by an external supplier and is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute. The programme is run over an 8-month period and includes six days classroom training on all aspects of management and leadership. The programme is offered to both existing team leaders and to high potential individuals who are keen to develop their skills further and are on a fast-track programme. The programme includes mandatory 360o feedback and the opportunity to work with an internal mentor and/or coach.

Morgan McKinley is dedicated to rewarding their employees for their discretionary efforts. As such they run a number of events throughout the year that not only reward this behaviour but also encourage teams to work closer together and grow as individuals. Individual teams within the business are rewarded for exceptional performance through team nights out funded by the company. They run a quarterly rising stars event that rewards employees for their successes within that quarter. These events consist of team building away-days, such as speed-boating on the Thames or retro sports days. Their most successful team event was run globally in April and took their very top performers across Operations and Global Services, those recognised by their peers as exceptional performers, for a once in a life time trip to Sun City in South Africa. The group stayed in a luxury hotel where they were treated like royalty. They went on balloon trips and a safari, they went on a zip wire with a serious view and took part in a quad biking experiences. They went for meals in Michelin star restaurants and authentic South African restaurants. Even the down time was luxurious, relaxing in style around the pool in the glorious South African sunshine.
