GOING THE EXTRA mile is second nature for Titus Sharpe, chief executive of MVF, a digital marketing agency specialising in customer generation. When staff decided to raise £10,000 to build a garden for a charity, fundraising included sponsored leg waxes for male staff — administered by female colleagues. Sharpe was among those enduring the pain.
“I was the one who waxed his legs,” says PR executive Jessica Laporte. “You don’t get leaders more approachable than that.” More conventionally, Sharpe also hosts a workshop for every new starter. People feel he runs MVF on moral principles (an 84% positive score) and agree that the London-based firm, which has an office in Austin, Texas, has a strong social conscience (89%).
The agency was set up in 2009 by five friends. Today its 325 staff put the company at No 2 on our list for Wellbeing (78%). The young workforce — 79% of employees are under 35 years old — rank the business top of our list when it comes to not feeling exhausted after a day at work (66%).
