About NewVoiceMedia

What is it like to work for NewVoiceMedia

Personal Growth
Personal Growth
NLT is a new development offering to engage and empower management to become the next generation of leaders at NVM. It’s a drive to retain the top talent in the business while encouraging social capital, autonomy and creativity. NLT is categorised into 4-work-streams: ‘Partner-Alignment’, ‘Customer-Engagement’, ‘Drink-Your-Own-Champagne’, ‘Comms-&-the-NVM-Way’. In the last 12 months, they have promoted and excelled 9 graduates in the UK business. Graduates are provided with extensive and ongoing training through Bootcamp programme which is a global affair. They have held secondments in the Sydney and San Francisco offices with some permanent transfers.  Managers provide structured one-to-one coaching and mentoring to build personal development plans with employees which may take the form of external skills training. This is open to all employees and is encouraged within the business. NewVoiceMedia sponsors and supports employees to attend industry conferences and study professional courses. They have a strong learning and development culture with regular 'Lunch n' Learns' and shared learning events. The company encourages staff to engage in personal development and supports staff who regularly blog and speak at conferences themselves.

Company Show and Tell + Beer & Lightening sessions take place fortnightly on a Friday afternoon. The sessions promote a culture of shared learning and enhance internal communication across departments whilst enjoying a cold beer and snacks. Development and Operations teams present news around completed features, product updates and roadmap progress as well as new ideas, technologies and learning from conferences and personal self development. Sales and Marketing teams share emerging industry trends, competitor analysis and customer case-studies. HR , Finance and other support functions hold regular slots to provide insight on new-initiatives and processes. A monthly podcast was introduced to pull together interesting stories, interviews and the latest news and updates from across the business - essentially something to bridge the gap between the quarterly company meeting and day to day communications. The most popular podcast to date included an interview with NewVoiceMedia's founder and CTO Ashley Unitt who shared why he started the company and his visions for the future.
My Company
My Company
The company recognise the importance of employee voice and believe that where values are employee designed, they are more engaging, authentic and truly lived. Here's how the company did it: 'Value-build workshops' were held across the regions involving over 100 employees from all roles and departments in the business. Here, employees across departments worked together to brainstorm, discuss and openly share their thoughts on what values should be in line with their personal experiences and company vision. Ideas were recorded on cloud templates for later review. The workshops helped create a buzz and energy which employees took back to their desks with them. Word clouds were analysed and common themes identified before being presented once more to the entire organisation via SurveyMonkey for final selection.Values are promoted and integrated into core processes including hiring, selection, on-boarding, training and performance.
