About Newydd Housing Association

Newydd are a charitable housing association that offer almost 3,000 affordable homes for rent and sale to people where need is at its greatest in Mid and South Wales.

Established in 1974, the organisation aims to provide affordable homes and support sustainable communities through excellent service to tenants and customers. Newydd places great focus on being honest, open and fair in their dealings with people and partner organisations.

The organisation also aims to be a great place to work, and strongly believes in the advantages offered by supporting personal growth for all members of staff. Career development is formally discussed in appraisals to identify staff who would like to move into a higher or different role.

Chief Executive Paul Roberts has been in his current role since 1992, and has an approachable, caring and friendly approach to his position. Paul considers himself one of the team and is committed to ensuring all staff have a fair deal regardless of rank.

What is it like to work for Newydd Housing Association

Newydd Housing Association have an open-plan office where all employees, including the CEO, work in the same area. Senior staff do not have their own reserved parking space, meaning they are the same as everyone else when it comes to finding a space to park.

Regular away days are held, during which managers will develop the planned activities depending on their own requirements. This can include anything from building relationships to team work. A recent resources team activity was learning to spray paint graffiti.

All staff are encouraged to take part in Make a Difference Days, which include a range of activities such as painting a tenant’s flat, working in one of the scheme gardens, litter picking at a local beach or helping out at the organisation’s annual general meeting.
