About Nockolds Solicitors

Nockolds Solicitors are a long-established law firm with offices in Bishop’s Stortford and London. They can trace their roots back over 180 years.

Nockolds Solicitors set up in business in 1831 under Thomas Unwin, a practising solicitor in Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth, although Alfred Nockolds didn’t join the company until 1880.

Today, Nockolds have 13 partners and more than 130 members of staff. Nockolds have achieved a Lexcel quality mark, numerous listings in the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners guides. They are also proud to hold a Gold Investors In People award.

Continued expansion has added niche and specialised legal services and the company works locally, nationally and internationally. The London office, headed up by Managing Partner Darren Hayward, offers flexibility and convenience for an ever-expanding client base.

Staff love being able to arrange their start and finish times around personal commitments, plus the quarterly free social events.
