Openreach is one of the biggest players in the UK telecoms market. They run and maintain the cables, ducts, cabinets and exchanges that connect nearly all homes and businesses in the country to the broadband and phone network.
They want to build the best possible network, with the highest quality service, and make sure everyone in the UK can be connected.
Openreach was created by BT to promote competition in Britain's telecoms market. They have significant market power as they control the network that much of the UK depends on.
They couldn't do what they do without their brilliant workforce, which is made up of over 30,000 colleagues. And with the internet fast becoming an essential part of life, they need to employ more people to maintain service and build their fibre network.
The super stars recognition scheme at Openreach rewards colleagues who go the extra mile when it comes to customer service. Managers start by sending an e-card to colleagues who deserve a thank you for a job well done. They will then consider anyone who gets five e-cards for a £25 award. Managers can also give £25 instant awards to anyone they see going above and beyond.
