About Pace plc

What is it like to work for Pace plc

Leadership
Leadership
Town halls are held monthly by Executive Team members and cover key business information and key business issues; these sessions always incorporate a Q&A session to ensure all issues are discussed. They have open plan offices where the leadership group all work open plan but the Executive Team have offices. They have very few offices and doors are open apart from during confidential meetings. They hold Intranet blogs and have a regular piece in organisation newsletter/magazine. In each Pacesetter they have a section on meeting a senior employee where both work and outside work interests are discussed. Each leader manages communications in their team according to the nature of the work that they do. Details on projects for example are shared in team meetings within the development teams. The CEO is extremely open and regularly walks the floor to understand issues. His door is always open to employees and he follows through issues raised, he knows the issues that are impacting on their people and is keen to work with them to find solutions. The open style has encouraged employees across the board to raise issues and opportunities with him.

Funds that get raised by employees are matched up to a limit, typically £500. They choose to focus their activity on charities immediately surrounding the main offices from which they operate. They have a team led by their Chief Operating Officer who is accountable for all environmental issues. They conduct a quarterly review against all their environmental targets and use external benchmarks and programmes where possible. For example they are currently working on a trial with Yorkshire Forward, to measure energy consumption on all their sites and compliance with voluntary industry codes. They are also ISO 14001 compliant. They aim to comply with all EU legislation for example they are 100% compliant with the EU packaging directive and the EU Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment directive. They have established themselves as an industry leader in low environmental impact products complying with their driving legislation and voluntary codes for the industry. They drive sustainability in all areas of their business.
