Pact - the Prison Advice and Care Trust - are a national charity that support people affected by imprisonment. They provide practical and emotional support to prisoners and their families so that they can make a fresh start. In addition, they work to minimise the harm that can be caused by imprisonment to prisoners, their children and families, and communities.
Their vision is of a society in which justice is understood as a process of restoration and healing, in which prisons are used sparingly and as places of learning and rehabilitation, and in which the innate dignity and worth of every human being is valued.
