At Peninsula they deliver over a minimum of 100 hours of directly delivered, face to face training every quarter. The training comprises of a mixture of employment law, soft skills such as call handling and technical skills. The training is delivered through webinars, quizzes, face to face classroom based training, reading/discovery time, e-learning and coaching. In the 24 hour service departments we provide discovery time which is time off the employment law advice line to undertake research in a particular area of employment for them to enhance and develop their knowledge. The advice line are also working with a CIPD centre of excellence to get all new employment law consultants through completion of the CIPD Level 7 Post Graduate Award in Employment Law within six months of their start date. The company also deliver regular 1-2-1 coaching with individuals and provide directed reading and allow "sitting next to" time to learn from other experienced colleagues. Peninsula are proud to have their own in-house developed university which houses all their research, learning and development material for staff to access anytime during the working day. Every quarter the company hold their Peninsula university L & D Forum where representatives from each department come and discuss learning and development from their own department and how we can share best practice, ideas and skills.
One of the main practices Peninsula employ is weekly fitness classes, which are well received by all their employees. These keep-fit sessions provide employees and management with a free and accessible means of staying physically fit, whilst also helping them to reduce any stress or anxiety they may be experiencing. The social nature of these classes means that employees are able to interact with colleagues from various departments, which increases engagement amongst colleagues and provides them with an opportunity to discuss any projects that they are currently working on, seeking advice and ideas. In line with the above, the company also encourages its employees to adopt a healthy approach to eating, by providing low fat and nutritious food options during lunch. On a weekly basis they also provide every department with three baskets of fresh organic fruit to help keep employees rejuvenated during the working day. This has proved extremely popular with all employees, based on the feedback that has been received and the empty baskets at the end of the week.

Over the years the company has offered a number of incentives to their employees, but most recently they decided to introduce a new incentive, which has received a favourable response from employees. Each quarter they have a brand new luxury car up for grabs. The company has previously given away a Ford Focus, Mercedes Benz and currently up for the taking is a BMW 3 Series. In order to qualify for entry into the prize draw, employees must hit a certain amount of new client deals in order to receive a raffle ticket for the draw. The more new business the individual employee brings in, the more tickets they accrue bettering their chances of winning the vehicle. Each employee who hits the necessary target not only gets a raffle ticket to enter the prize draw but they also receive a cash bonus for their hard work and determination.
