About Pennington Choices Ltd

Pennington Choices are a multi-disciplinary organisation providing a wide range of property-related professional services nationally to the public and private sectors.

They were set up in 2000 by Managing Director Mark Seaborn, an experienced and respected senior executive working in the housing sector. Mark wanted to give housing providers housing consultancy, building and quantity surveying and asset-management services.

Today, the firm employs 65 property surveyors, auditors, inspectors and consultants supported by a network of associates. Three other strategically placed offices in Birmingham, Kent and Glasgow allow the company to offer asset management and building surveying on a national basis.

The firm provides professional specialists to interpret data recorded from property compliance and condition surveys. They guide and advise clients about their property-management obligations and investment strategies.

The business is driven by five core values: Innovative, Sincere, Trusted, Supportive and Collaborative.

The training strategy goes beyond job-specific training to personal-development training. There’s a programme of leadership workshops and team members have their own mentors (often external). The firm also supports graduate surveyors through their RICS to become chartered.

The team is geographically spread, so Mark creates open and collaborative working with an open-door policy where team members can drop in and discuss things. There’s a WhatsApp group, 'Pennington Shout', and an Employee Forum with reps who share ideas quarterly.

There’s a nominated local charity, the Warrington Disability Partnership, with the MD sitting as non-executive director on their board. The firm raised £4000-plus for the charity last year. Activities included climbing the Yorkshire Three Peaks in foul weather.
