What is it like to work for Practicus Ltd

In 2011/12, Practicus Ltd implemented Staff Benefits as a result of the feedback from the Best Companies survey and the company’s monthly Listen to the Business surveys in 2011. The company sent out multiple engagement surveys to see which benefits staff would see as valuable. The majority chose a pension at the top of their list, then Health Cash Plan and Life Assurance, Cycle to work, Childcare Vouchers and Volunteering days. Practicus Ltd implemented all of them. The company made sure that they communicated all the way through the implementation to ensure everyone had clarity of the process - what, how, when and who would be involved. Since introducing the benefits, staff have felt more valued by the business because they feel that they are being listened to.

Every year the Company goes on a 5 star incentive trip which is for employees who have met their objectives and performed at the very top of their game. One of the highlight events on all 5 star trips is a team helicopter ride. In May 2012, 18 staff members and Directors enjoyed a trip of a lifetime to Hong Kong. In previous years, the trips have included the Seychelles, Monaco, Barcelona, New York, Las Vegas and this year Sun City. These trips include staying in a luxury resort as well as enjoying high adrenaline activities and wonderful meals, evenings socialising and some unforgettable memories. Because it is a mix of staff, everyone has a chance to bond and get to know each other outside of a work environment. Everyone returns with their own stories, pictures, and memories. These are truly trips of a life time and the motivation to return to another 5 star trip is always high in the agenda!

Practicus Ltd sends out a survey called "Listen to the Business" on Survey Monkey each month to the business to ask for any comments, feedback or suggestions staff may want to share with the Directors and management. They can either put their name to the comments so the Directors can respond directly or they can send it through anonymously. The suggestions and ideas are then put on the agenda at the Business Performance Review meetings each month and discussed with Directors/Managers. The company then either feedback directly to the person who sent the suggestion, if it was named, otherwise any the action taken is communicated back company wide. Practicus Ltd have had feedback on a variety of areas. It is not used or seen as a 'griping opportunity' but a chance to showcase innovative ideas and for staff to express themselves.
