They are a leading supplier of probiotic products to the veterinary, equine, agricultural and healthcare markets. They manufacture in their own purpose built, state-of-the-art facility in Somerset, UK. They are a fast growing, dynamic and award winning organisation who are always on the lookout for talented individuals to join the team.

Every employee is passionate about what they do and truly believes in their products. Their products change the lives of humans and animals and they are proud to do so. Employees work incredibly hard, there's no twiddling of fingers there! But in return the company truly cares for and looks after all employees. They offer a fantastic benefits package and believe in working on a 'give and take' basis to help employees manage a work life balance. They understand that families and pressures outside of work, demand time and whenever possible provide maximum flexibility to employees to amend working hours and take time out so they don't miss those all important family moments like sport's day and the school nativity! At the end of the day the employees of Protexin are an extended family and they all look after each other, they share successes, celebrate birthdays, weddings and new additions to families and support each other through the more challenging times. They are 'Proud to be Protexin'.

What is it like to work for ADM Protexin Ltd

My Manager
My Manager
ADM Protexin provide a bespoke management development programme for individuals stepping up to management/supervisory roles, and those who are new to such roles. Over a period of 9 months the course covers leadership and management styles, situational leadership, goal setting, communication and behaviours, investigation skills and recruitment and selection.

Following on from the development programme, a recap course is conducted 6 months later to identify any further elements of training required, along with a mentoring session for each delegate.

In addition, coaching is provided by the HR team to guide managers through difficult situations and to give them the confidence and knowledge required to suitably deal with any staffing issues.
ADM Protexin endeavours to promote a culture of employee wellbeing as they believe that employees who are physically and mentally well are more committed and successful. As part of this they actively encourage employees to take regular breaks from their desks and visit colleagues in person around the site rather than send emails or phoning, these micro breaks provide great relief of eye strain from VDU's, improvement of posture and enhanced mental wellbeing through positive face to face interaction with colleagues. They also encourage employees to take full and meaningful lunch breaks and get away from their normal work environment, the HR Manager has even been known to send people away from their desks at lunch to ensure adequate breaks are taken. A very effective initiative has been the Protexin Walking Club which has seen groups of employees taking to the local lanes, foot paths and fields to de-stress, get some fresh air and exercise during their lunch breaks. They have seen ever growing groups of employees going out in all weather to enjoy the local countryside.
My Team
My Team
In the past 12 months they have held a number of team events aimed at building individual teams and whole company relations. Recently they held a charities day including a 'Bake Off' event and Christmas jumper/mufty day and raffle, with the Company matching all funds raised by employees for Mind Somerset. This was a fantastic event with participants from all departments showing off their baking skills, judged by the Directors.

In addition, there have been a number of events aimed at integrating individuals and teams at ADM Protexin with teams and colleagues in the wider ADM group of companies across the world.  One unique example was the ADM HR Manager attending a team building event in Valencia with HR colleagues from across Europe, Middle East and Africa divisions, involving a seminar, idea generation activities, networking, a walking tour of Valencia city and a Paella cooking lesson!
