Regular company meetings take place which gives employees time to ask any questions or raise any concerns. Their whole office is open plan and everyone shares the space including the senior managers, MD and CEO. They have a flat structure so all of their senior managers are one of the team and they ensure that they are approachable and available to employees. The Managing Director, Nick Blunden regularly attends social events and ensures he joins outings to the pub after company meetings and is also a member of the Profero Pythons football team. Nick has a blog called where he comments on the impact of digital technology on consumer behaviour and business success.

Every employee that is promoted to management level is placed on a ‘Happy People’ training programme and will receive appraisal training. The training programme is designed to give managers the insight and tools to manage their people. The company runs a continual professional development programme which every manager will undertake.

Profero have an initiative in place called Atom, where employees are encouraged to propose innovate ideas. This is purposefully a very loose term as they work hard to ensure creativity is not stifled. If the idea is accepted by the Atom Board then they will be awarded 5 innovation days to develop the idea along with any other team member who feels passionate about the idea. They also have a bonus called the ‘Profero Commitment’ bonus which gives back a share of 10% of their profits back to the team. When employees reach 5 years of service they receive an engraved iPod or camera and are given a fully paid 1 month sabbatical after 10 years service.
