About Quick Release (Automotive) Ltd

Based in Basildon, Essex, Quick Release began life in 2003 when founder Robert Ferrone was working as an automotive engineer. He noticed something that he knew had to change: engineers spent very little time engineering and much more time feeding data into systems.

It was slow and frustrating. That’s why Rob and his colleague Adam Grant created Quick Release. Today, they’ve been joined by over 170 other employees and have offices in Germany, the US and Australia.

Their goal is to empower some of the biggest OEMs and the most innovative automotive companies in the world to get products to market faster and cheaper.

Quick Release relieve engineering and automotive professionals from the burden of product data management and the drain of underperforming programmes. They optimise data, systems and people. And yet the product data quality is the best it can be.

The company have an ethos of team fellowship and family.

Quick Release are heavy users of Slack, giving everyone instant communication with every employee. There’s also a weekly global team meeting, a bi-weekly discussion forum, a team away weekend and a monthly team event.

The CSR Business Working Group looks at how the company can support charities and be more environmentally responsible. The result has been an increase lift sharing, reduced air travel, reusable coffee cups and shutting down equipment. They’ve also carried out clean-ups on beaches, canals and parks.

Once a year, the team weekend sees everyone get together somewhere in Europe for an all-expenses-paid weekend away. In 2018, the venue for 160 people was Madrid, with lots of organised activities, evenings out and relationship building.
