All managers complete a skills matrix self-assessment form which is reviewed every 6 months during appraisals. This identifies any skills gaps so that appropriate training can be arranged. All managers are encouraged to join the relevant professional body and RAW will financially support two professional memberships per year. Managers are also given the relevant study time in order to maintain these memberships.

All employees are required to complete a skills matrix self-assessment form which allows the company  to identify skill gaps and areas for development. These are reviewed every 6 months during appraisals and form the basis of the employees training for the next 6 months. The training is a combination of both internal and external training. Employees are encouraged to approach their manager at any time (not just during appraisals) with any training ideas that they feel could enhance their future development or the future development of the company.

My Team
There is  a company intranet where company news and updates are posted. This includes an introduction of new employees to the rest of the company including their role, their experience and contact details. The intranet also includes staff forums which all staff have access to and can create their own forums or comment in other employees forums. The forums are both work and non-work related.
