About Red and Blue Restaurants

Liverpool-based Red and Blue Restaurants are the group behind the Bacaro, Salt House Tapas and Hanover Street Social brands. Their fourth venue in Liverpool, Rocket and Ruby, has just opened and the firm have plans to expand Bacaro into Manchester in 2019.

The business is co-owned by Jonathan Poole and Patrick Smith. Rocket & Ruby is the final piece in the original jigsaw, which comprised opening four different, independently named restaurants in Liverpool. It offers a delicious selection of small plates, freshly made sandwiches and home-baked goodies, plus a new coffee window.

The company have ambitious growth plans.

The chain have a social conscience and cook a meal on Christmas Day for a chosen charity each year. Diners can also choose a charity for a £1 donation.

What is it like to work for Red and Blue Restaurants

Directors have a hands-on approach and lead by example. They’re always visible in the company, offering any help they can. They know staff by first names, hold weekly team meetings with each site, and monthly manager meetings to review figures, incentives and news.

On Christmas Day, staff cook a meal for a charity, with Santa giving out presents. Every table can donate £1 towards a selected charity. Every year, staff support Action Against Hunger with a physical challenge, such as an Ethiopian bike ride or Nepal hike.
