Warrington-based Restons Solicitors Limited never set out to be a jack of all trades - instead, they’ve focused their energies on helping market leaders in the finance, debt purchase and utility sectors, with both secured and unsecured collections.
They offer advice and support to clients on all aspects of recoveries, including complex CCA regulation issues. The firm’s strengths are a sound understanding of commercial, reputational and compliance issues, and a focused, proprietary interest in clients’ receivables.
Now with a few hundred staff and led by Chairman Christopher Reston and Managing Director Nigel Coe, Restons are a technologically switched-on firm. IT is at the forefront of the business, with an in-house case-management system offering collections software tailored to clients’ precise specifications.
Restons is a fun place to work, with fancy dress at Halloween, a summer BBQ and quiz, and a monthly birthday lunch off-site with the MD. Charities benefit from events such as bake-offs and pool tournaments.
Development comes from a number of different channels, including team leaders and coaches. Other channels include quality assurance and formal training programmes, plus promotions and progression through the company and within different departments.
Restons support parents by offering flexible working arrangements, and are also open to discussing temporary changes to working patterns should there be the opportunity. In addition, employees can take up to three ‘duvet days’ - paid emergency leave - from their holiday allowance.
Restons have team meetings at all levels, cross-function team meetings and buzz sessions, plus inspirational messages and information on wall boards in the contact centre. New starters get a lunch on their first day and charities benefit from Christmas jumpers and staff events.
