About risual

risual was founded in 2005 on the values of honesty, openness and trust. Set up by two young entrepreneurs, Alun Rogers and Richard Proud, the business still champions these values today. All employees are encouraged to conduct themselves in accordance with the company values and treat co-workers, clients and those in the community with the respect they deserve.

risual never have and never will take on work that is not beneficial to the client. They have challenged and will continue to challenge themselves, their clients and their leaders to do more with technology to improve the world we live in.

Despite tremendous success in recent years, risual are not interested in slowing down. Their policy is built around continuous investment and organic growth and as they grow, they find new challenges to overcome and new technologies to understand.

“We are incredibly proud to again be awarded a 3 star accreditation from Best Companies to reflect the view shared by risual colleagues. To achieve the prestigious award, representing ‘extraordinary’ levels of employee engagement is fantastic. We see the passion of our people every day and it is superb to see their efforts and contribution be showcased more widely in celebrating another 3 star Best Companies accreditation.” - Kate Lincoln, Operations Director.

What is it like to work for risual

The priority of risuals leadership team was to address employee safety and stability during the early stages of the pandemic whilst sustaining the business through challenging times. risual has had values of openness, honesty and trust throughout its existence and recent months have shown the true value of this approach. Their Leaders are action-oriented, empathetic and transparent and this was critical in the way they supported colleagues through this time. Leaders understood that their team members were impacted indifferent ways, some were working alone at home and at risk of feeling disconnected. Others were working from busy homes with active families, distractions and at risk of feeling overloaded. Their response was to maintain stability for all colleagues and share their journey as it unfolded.

Priding themselves on doing things a little differently, the founders of risual were determined to go that bit further in2020 and form a charitable foundation. The risual Foundation will take responsibility for the business charitable activities which has seen it give up thousands of hours to various activities over the years and seen it make financial contributions to causes along the way. The new charity has already set about its stated aim to give back to people, communities and businesses. risual have launched a Careers Club, aimed at using risual employee knowledge and experience to help get people back into work. Meetings are taking place with representatives from councils and government departments to discuss initiatives that can help support those displaced by COVID-19.

risual’s aim was to ensure all employees felt connected to each other throughout the pandemic. With the news of the 2020Olympics being postponed, the virtual risual Olympics was born. The organisation was split into cross-divisional teams to encourage communication and teamwork. Each team had a captain who was responsible for communicating daily with their team and encouraging participation. To encourage all employees to be both mentally and physically active during the pandemic, the range of activities included running, walking, cycling, yoga positions, virtual quizzes, reading books, watching films and a guess the baby photo challenge. They also added other activities that earnt points during lockdown. Points were given for photos of drawings in their windows that supported the NHS and videos of themselves and their families clapping for the NHS.
