About The Rossendale Trust

The Rossendale Trust are a charity providing full-time care and support to 70 adults with learning disabilities, and some with physical disabilities. Working across seven sites, staff also provide a day service and the provision of short-term employment opportunities for tenants.

Through their values of safe, caring, effective, responsive and well-led, the organisation aims to create an environment in which people can develop and grow, enabling them to have ownership of their own lives and futures.

The Trust deliver a person-centred service, putting tenants at the centre of everything that it does. Employees care for people as individuals, working to improve the quality of their lives by creating an environment in which they can develop at their own pace.

Staff at the Rossendale Trust are valued for their hard work, while progression opportunities are offered to staff who want to develop their career within the organisation.

Chief Executive Steve Nichols was appointed to his current role in June 2013. Steve aims to interact with all employees and regularly visits the various Trust locations to participate in team meetings and communicate future plans.

The Trust support tenants with sports attractions, museums, pop concerts, and holidays at home and abroad. There’s a dedicated health and wellbeing budget for staff, while external experts offer advice and guidance to employees on obesity, sedentary lifestyles and smoking.

The head office site is home to 32 adults with learning disabilities living in shared apartments. The council don’t normally allow recycling in such a setting, but they have made an exception. Waste paper is shredded and composted, while there’s a lockable bike-storage area and staff showers.
