About Royal Society of Chemistry

With over 50,000 members and an international publishing business, the Royal Society of Chemistry are the UK's professional body for chemical scientists, supporting their members and bringing together chemical scientists around the world. Led by Chief Executive Officer Robert Parker, they are a not-for-profit organisation with a heritage that spans 175 years.

In 2017 they held a Wellness Week with the aim of promoting positive mental and physical health and general overall wellbeing. They curated a wide variety of activities and workshops over the course of the week including mindfulness and sleep workshops. Exercise classes were offered, including Pilates, yoga, boot camp and dance, as well as financial awareness sessions.

In a survey after the Wellness Week, over 72% of the respondents reported that they had considered making positive changes to their wellbeing. Some have also signed up for more exercise classes and are making change to their diets.
