Providing social housing in the Sheffield City region, South Yorkshire Housing Association deliver personalised care, health and wellbeing services and develop housing for rent or shared ownership.
Their purpose is to allow people to settle at home, live well and realise their potential. Customer service is crucial and employees are rewarded for their outstanding approach to this with the organisation’s quarterly Good to Great awards. Anybody can nominate a worker for the award and a panel of staff will review each nomination to decide who will win the cash prizes and certificates at a quarterly ceremony.
An annual company roadshow is hosted by the chief executive, who has been with the organisation for 22 years. The event is open to the entire workforce, offering interactive and participatory sessions that workers will enjoy and learn from. South Yorkshire Housing Association was formed in 1972 and still fulfils its original purpose of providing homes to those most in need.
