St Gemma’s Hospice provide care and quality of life for people living with a terminal illness and those close to them within a hospital and in the community. Their vision is to meet the needs of its users with care, compassion and skill.
All their services are provided free of charge and employees work for St Gemma’s Hospice across their hospital and charity shops. Staff regularly organise and participate in charity events to raise funds for the hospice and the organisation participates in numerous community projects.
The chief executive has an open-door policy and is visible to all employees, undertaking regular visits to all remote sites. Individual wellbeing plans are made for staff with caring responsibilities and the hospice is a member of the Leeds-based Working Carers Employers Group. They are the largest hospice in Yorkshire and one of the biggest in the UK.
