About The Sumo Group

Sumo Group's award-winning businesses provide creative and development services to the video games and entertainment industries, from studios in Sheffield, Newcastle, Nottingham, Pune (India), Brighton, Vancouver (Canada), Leamington and Leeds.

Sumo Group currently has two operating businesses which include Sumo Digital and Atomhawk.
Sumo Digital, their primary business, is one of the UK's largest independent developers of AAA-rated video games, providing both turnkey and co-development solutions to an international blue chip client base.

Since their inception in 2003, they have had a string of successful titles across all gaming platforms for partners that include Microsoft, Sega, Sony and many more.

Their environment is relaxed, friendly and built upon the basis of every team member having the opportunity to shine and have a realisable input into the games they create. Sumo feel privileged to employ incredibly creative and talented people that partake in shared interest groups, lunchtime clubs, charity fundraising events and lots of socialising.

Sumo offer a benefits package which includes generous holidays and flexitime. Perks include the annual 'Sumo Big Day Out', Christmas parties, money on your birthday, on-site free gym, free drinks and fruit for everyone.

The regular studio 'Game Jams' are a highlight - staff spend a full day developing and pitching their own game ideas for possible development by Sumo.

Staff genuinely enjoy working for the organisation, and this shines through in their attitude and behaviours that make their studios a welcoming, passionate and fun place to be on a daily basis.

What is it like to work for The Sumo Group

Sumo work to ensure that their employees work fits in with other commitments. Their flexitime policy means staff can start at 10am and leave from 4pm if they fulfil their full-time hours each week. Many staff utilise this and have been able to commit to caring/other responsibilities.
