About TACT

TACT are the UK’s largest fostering and adoption charity and have been helping to provide loving families for vulnerable children for 24 years. They aim to provide the best possible care for their users and place great importance on supporting, training and developing their foster carers.

With a national network of employees, TACT’s workforce receive regular communication to ensure consistency across the organisation, including email, newsletters and face-to-face meetings. Key values are to be aspirational, passionate, customer-focussed, fair and equitable.

An employee assistance programme provides staff with access to a wealth of resources on how to avoid workplace stress and TACT encourage a healthy work-life balance and flexible working is also available. The overriding purpose for all staff is to provide better lives for children and young people in care. They currently have more than 500 foster carers providing loving homes for more than 600 children and young people.

The chief executive and HR director regularly meet with representatives who share suggestions for improvements made during staff meetings. All managers have an open-door policy and communication is welcomed, with the chief executive regularly visiting all regional offices to ensure direct feedback is provided.
