About Tenancy Deposit Scheme

Tenancy Deposit Scheme are the longest established supplier of tenancy deposit protection and operate the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) in England and Wales, providing key services to SafeDeposits Scotland and operating TDS Northern Ireland.

TDS are an industry-owned and government-approved tenancy deposit protection scheme for the residential lettings market. They’re not for profit and don’t have any shareholders. This means that any surpluses can be put back into the business to improve the service for their members. They support their members to meet their legal obligations to protect tenancy deposits and allow them to retain control of the deposits so they can better manage the end of tenancy process.

To improve employee engagement, they ensure all colleagues are trained in their ‘Together Drives Success’ customer service training. They also host a variety of activities during team meetings that are designed to re-emphasise these skills.

What is it like to work for Tenancy Deposit Scheme

Chief Executive Steve Harriott has taken direct and personal leadership not only in working with the colleague team over the last eight years on developing a strategic plan but also in leading the commitment to the organisation to achieve their behaviour and attitude objectives.
Employees are encouraged to take an hour away from their desk at lunch time and, to assist this, there is a staff room with kitchen facilities and comfortable chairs to relax in. In addition, a table tennis table is available to use during lunch breaks.

The TDS Charitable Foundation acts to promote education in the rights and responsibilities of tenants and landlords. Since September 2017, they have awarded £117,944.00 to seven different organisations and a total of £536,200 since the foundation started in 2014.
