About The Brilliant Club

The Brilliant Club are an award-winning charity that exist to increase the number of pupils from under-represented backgrounds progressing to highly-selective universities. They do this by mobilising the PhD community to share its academic expertise with state schools. In their five-year strategy, which was launched in 2016, they plan to support 6,500 pupils from under-represented backgrounds to progress to highly-selective universities by 2021.

Through a combination of university trips, in-school tutorials and online resources, they support pupils aged 10-18 years old to develop the knowledge, skills and ambition needed to progress to highly-selective universities. In 2017/18 more than 11,300 pupils took part in The Scholars Programme.

The Brilliant Club is led by Dr Chris Wilson (CEO) and Ciara Lynch (COO). Today, they partner with nearly 700 schools and 38 universities across the UK in the delivery of their goals.
