Employees can apply to study for the Certificate in Football Management - FA Edition. This has proved very popular and the organisation recently sponsored 23 FA employees, 9 international people and 2 from the counties. The HR team complete a review of their core learning and development needs across The FA Group. They identified a number of key training requirements as follows: handling difficult people and conversations, negotiating and influencing skills, advanced project management, essential skills for team members and managing your wellbeing, effective minute taking, unleash your creativity, advanced handling difficult people and conversations, personal effectiveness and managing your wellbeing, recruitment and interview training, disciplinary, grievance and formal performance training.
Giving Something Back
Giving Something Back
The FA Group invite students from a local school for a Careers Day. This includes a tour of the Stadium, welcome and presentation from a Director, background of the Organisation, tips on interview skills and an opportunity to meet employees from across the Group to discuss career options and get general advice. This is followed by lunch and a football coaching session delivered by our qualified coaches.

The FA Group have found that their Reward and Recognition programme has been particularly effective in engaging employees. Team Talk, their intranet site provides a wealth of information and enables employees to be aware of all that is happening at The FA and SGP. It also provides the opportunity to ask questions, share best practice and share news on weddings, births, promotions, when new employees join and general good news. They have regular talks from Divisional Directors and the General Secretary plus departmental and team meetings and updates.
