The Gym Group Plc is a low cost gym with 105 locations nationally. They offer ‘no pressure’ memberships that permit members to stop and start whenever they want, and are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week in order to give members access to the gym whenever it suits them best.
The first gym in the group was opened in Hounslow in 2008 by founded John Treharne, a former England squash player.
The Gym runs a learning programme designed to develop customer service skills and improve the interaction with gym members and potential new members at each new gym, prior to opening, in order to prepare the team.
The ‘Heads Up’ programme aims to equip employees with a 'toolbox' of key skills, behaviours and confidence to support them in their role. Post training evaluation shows 86% of attendees would recommend the programme, and 83% had applied the learnings and tried new things.
