About Hanley Economic Building Society

The Hanley Economic Building Society are a local independent building society based in Staffordshire. They have been in operation for over 160 years and provide a full range of financial services products.

Lead by Chief Executive Officer Mark Selby, they aim to be Britain's best local building society.

They provide training for an industry-related qualification, CeMap (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice), and provide support and mentoring through the various levels by holding small group sessions with a qualified professional.

Staff are encouraged to join associations and focus groups to develop their communication and business skills. Training and development needs are identified during the appraisal process and are allocated in a fair and consistent way (subject to budgetary limits), linked to the needs of the business and the individual.

They also support their finance department by funding accounting qualifications with paid study leave days.
