About The Kaleidoscope Plus Group

The Kaleidoscope Plus Group are a health and wellbeing charity that works with people of all ages, with a particular focus on mental health. Their mission is to promote and support positive health and wellbeing, with the ultimate aim of providing services on a national level.

Recovery, inclusion and awareness are key principles in everything they do, with service users at the heart of this vision. Employees are encouraged to undertake voluntary work and the organisation has a knitting group that knits clothing for premature babies at a local hospital, as well as making regular donations to a food bank.

Volunteers have also undertaken mental health first aid training and applied suicide intervention skills training, to recognise those who might be feeling suicidal and equip them with the knowledge to keep them safe. Some 27 interventions have been completed within just eight months of the training.

What is it like to work for The Kaleidoscope Plus Group

The chief executive regularly holds face-to-face meetings to get to know employees, as well as emailing daily motivational quotes to the whole business. She has enrolled in a counselling skills course to improve engagement and communication with staff, living and breathing the company ethics and vision.
Wellbeing is at the heart of what the organisation does and this is demonstrated with their approach to employee wellbeing. Mental health first aid training is mandatory for all employees and there is a an environment where talking about stress is welcome, rather than being a taboo subject.

All employees attend bi-monthly coffee mornings to meet with people from other teams and learn more about different areas of the business. Colleagues chat to one another and are asked to bring and share food they have prepared to showcase their culinary skills - which can get competitive!
