About The Leadership Trust

EXECUTIVES TAKE LESSONS in development at The Leadership Trust. The organisation, based on a small country estate in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, has a commercial wing providing training for executives, and this funds its educational charity. There are 65 employees who feel good about what they do. Everyone does a 37.5-hour week and nobody suffers from work-related stress (80% positive) while managers respond to signs of pressure (76%). The trust helps to protect the environment (79%, the third highest score among the small groups listed).

What is it like to work for The Leadership Trust

Employees serious about losing weight are offered moral support. Time off is supported if an employee feels this is appropriate for managing stress, otherwise managers are encouraged to offer support on an ongoing basis. It is recognised that this is a real issue for some employees and time off/support from manager is provided. They provide a fully equipped fitness centre with new equipment that is available to staff to use any time outside working hours as long as the site is open, free of charge.

There are Departmental Christmas lunches (£10 per head), plus a formal Christmas lunch for whole company. There is an internal development course open to all non managerial staff and a team building experience and a chance to experience The Leadership Trust’s style of training from the other side of the fence.

The Leadership Trust is a charity. All profits they make are distributed in grants and bursaries to other voluntary organisations in order to further their leadership development. Since starting their grants and bursaries scheme they have donated in excess of £3.4M.
