In September 2014, The Marketing Practice took the whole company to the Bluestone National Park, Pembrokeshire, Wales for a superb 5* 2 day team build event; themed "The Purple Dragon Games".  They had 4 house teams and created a magical, memorable 'Harry Potter' adventure, starting with a sorting hat event to decide their houses.  The spirit of the theme ran ahead of the games, during the games and created stories and memories that will live long in staff's memories.  Zip wire, tug-of-war, archery, a blind fold assault course, shelter building, ball hurling and forest battles are just a few of the activities during the days.  Add to that a BBQ in a ravine and a fancy dress gala dinner where their favourite magical tunes played into the small hours, it is fair to say they had a fabulous time, learnt new things about each other and discovered new skills within themselves.

The TMP Foundation was created in 2011 to support charity causes close to the hearts of people at The Marketing Practice.  The company want to support local charities in meaningful fundraising that will make a difference to lives in the area around the company's Oxfordshire home.  As well as supporting national charity events throughout the year. Last year their Summer Party was held on 7 June 2014.  Guests were greeted with drinks and canapés on the sweeping green lawns of the breath-taking Ardington House.  They enjoyed picture-perfect country views, took part in some loony lawn games, embarked on a boat ride or two and even indulged in a bit of magic, before heading into the marquee for an informal dinner, live music and a charity auction.  It was all in support of Naomi House and Jack Place Children Hospice.  The Marketing Practice are very proud to say they raised over £11,600.00 at this event alone.  Their main nominated charity last year was Naomi House and Jack's Place Children's Hospices, however they have also supported; MacMillan Coffee Morning, Children In Need, SeeSaw Christmas Cards, the British Heart Foundation 'Ramp up the Red', Easter Eggs for Hospitals – with 170 eggs delivered, Sports Relief, Muscular Sclerosis ‘Strip for Charity’ and Motor Neurone Disease Associations.

The company's Purple programme is continuously evolving.  It is a programme that formally recognises their super stars.  Purple is an important colour to The Marketing Practice as it denotes excellent quality, exceptional performance, those who continually go above and beyond, are always positive, and always looking at news ways of delighting their clients and colleagues.  The company monitor their clients and employees on a monthly basis using a simple but effective colour system Red: Serious concerns Amber: Have some concerns Green: All is good and as I expect Purple: Delighted, a WOW moment!  They have a monthly reward and recognition budget and publicly announce their purple stars at their monthly company get together (TGIM).  The company have created their own currency; purple£’s and people can spend their purple£’s on anything they choose.  Awards given are typically of the value of £50 to £250.  Last summer The Marketing Practice raised the bar again with their Double Purple Programme: The Double Purple Programme formally recognises their superstars through their purple performance initiative.  Last year’s performance scores for their staff are at the highest levels they have ever seen and show that everyone at The Marketing Practice performs at continuously high levels.  So, The Marketing Practice asked their employees to nominate their Double Purple Player; to think about those who continually go above and beyond, are always positive, who inspire you most, who make the company a fantastic, vibrant place to work and is always looking at new ways of delighting clients and colleagues.  They look at personal rewards as a way of saying thank you.  Last summer's winner is an avid rugby fan and will be going to The Millennium Stadium this November to watch Wales vs. New Zealand play!  He is absolutely delighted.
